At Swan Beauty, we carry over 30 beauty brands. Our brands include everyone from larger legacy brands such as Armani and Givenchy to smaller independently owned brands. While we are passionate about all of the brands we work with at Swan Beauty, we definitely have a special place in our hearts for the smaller independent brands that we carry. One of these brands that has been a part of our assortment since our launch in 2020 is Saint Jane. Saint Jane is an award-winning clean skincare brand that is made with potent, active botanicals to transform skin, calm irritation and detox pores. If you haven’t yet tried the Saint Jane Luxury Beauty Serum, it is a must-have product for anyone that struggles with redness and/or is looking for a potent anti aging serum to add to their routine. We recently sat down with Saint Jane’s founder, Casey Georgeson, to learn more about what led her to start Saint Jane and how she balances being a mom with running a business.
Swan Beauty: What led you to start Saint Jane? How did you decide to develop a beauty line with CBD?
Casey Georgeson: I’ve been a brand creator for most of my career and I’d always dreamed of creating my own brand. After years of innovation for big Companies, I knew it was time to do something uniquely mine. When I discovered the healing, calming benefits of CBD, I knew it was the right time.
SB: How do you balance both work and family?
CG: I always try to put my family first. I cannot believe how quickly time is passing by and my oldest is almost a teenager! I work hard as an example to my girls, but also as a tribute to myself and what I know I can achieve. I try to work when the girls are at school and activities so I can be present for them when they get home. It’s not always possible but it’s the goal.
SB: Any tips for other working moms?
CG: Be compassionate with yourself. One amazing Mom once told me that she prioritizes quality time over quantity with her kids. It made them feel that the time with them was precious and as a result, they deeply felt her focus when they were growing up. Everyone needs to take breaks, whether you’re a working mom or one who works at home. Building in the balance is what keeps you strong, and your children will feel that.
|SB: What does your daily beauty routine look like?|
CG: I’m a huge skincare junkie so I’m always trying formulas and combinations of new products. I have dry skin so I tend to lean towards really rich, hydrating formulations. I ALWAYS wear SPF, especially living by the beach. I also try to drink 100 ounces of water a day because it makes my skin plumper (and fights those fine lines!). I wear makeup daily because I look exhausted if I don’t….mascara is a must.
SB: Your favorite Saint Jane product?
CG: Ooooh hard one! Luxury Beauty Serum is my ultimate healer anytime I have redness, eczema, a sunburn. I also use it on my girls. Hydrating Petal Cream comes with me everywhere — it gives me such long wear hydration. All of my Saint Jane formulas are near and dear to my heart because their mission is to help skin stress.
SB: One thing you wish you could go back in time and tell your teenage self?
CG: I was lucky to get through my teen years without a scratch, but it was purely luck. I wish I had been more aware, more grounded. It wasn’t until I was 24 and my younger brother had a car accident that left him with a spinal cord injury, that my world changed. It taught me was life can change in the blink of an eye. I also wish I’d known that so much confidence would come with turning 40…In my teens, 20’s and 30’s, I always held something back and now, I wish I’d just gone after my dreams. Better late than never, but I wasted time worrying what other people might say or think if I dreamed too big.
SB: What has been your biggest aha moment since launching Saint Jane?
CG: If you dream it, manifest it, and set goals you can seriously do anything. I realized that if you want it, you can truly do it. When I was growing up, my parents always told me I could do anything if I set my mind to it. I didn’t know what that meant until I launched Saint Jane. That has been incredibly rewarding.
SB: What’s next? Personally and professionally?
CG: I want to help other female founders succeed in the beauty and wellness industry. I want to giveback to women in our society who need help, and more support than they currently have access to. I want to see Saint Jane succeed so my team can reap the rewards of all of their hard work. It’s all about giving back for me…I believe in changing lives because I have been so fortunate with mine.
SB: How do you unwind after work?
CG: Fridays it’s always with a glass of wine or cocktail with my husband! I look forward to it all week…During the weekdays, we always have dinner as a family, watch the news while we clean up and usually read together or start a movie. Our girls are getting to the ages where watching movies together is really fun…We had our Disney princess phase and now they like to watch mysteries and Oscar winners.
SB: Favorite Vacation Spot?
CG: Lake Tahoe…We try to spend as much time there as we can. I love the fresh, mountain air and the cozy family time.
SB: Who is your female icon?
CG: Maya Angelou…I always find myself reciting her quotes. My favorite is the one where she says: People won’t remember what you say, but they’ll never forget how you made them feel.” It’s true in so many capacities in life.
